As Teen Mom OG stars Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra prepare to expand their family, the couple have revealed the gender of baby number three…and it’s a girl!
The pair, who are parents to Carly, whom they placed for adoption when they were 16, and Nova, admitted that this time around they thought it was going to be a boy. “I was so shocked that it was a girl because I for sure thought it was a boy!” Catelynn told Us Weekly. “Tyler knew the sex before I did. When we did our gender reveal, I was so shocked I almost cried because I wanted a boy so badly. I’m super excited it’s a girl now. Since our miscarriage, I just am thankful to get another chance, and as long as it’s healthy, that’s all that matters!”
Even though they haven’t welcomed their third daughter just yet, Catelynn admitted that they have already “talked about trying again” for a boy.
“We definitely want to have a boy, but if God only wants us to have girls, then that’s just what it is,” she explained. “It will be a houseful of ALL girls! Poor Tyler!”
The pair shared an adorable photo of their daughter Nova holding a sign that read: “I am such a pretty little girl my mommy & daddy wanted another one to be their world so as our world gets a little bigger I just can’t wait to be HER big sister.”
The couple previously opened up about expecting again after suffering a miscarriage last year and revealed they weren’t even trying. “We were not planning it, especially after the miscarriage and how I went downhill with my mental illness,” she explained, referring to her struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts. “At first, Tyler was very shocked and nervous, but he obviously came around to it and was super pumped once the initial shock wore off and it sunk in.”
