Steve Burton will appear in the second series of Peacock’s Days Of Our Lives: Beyond Salem!
The former General Hospital star, who was fired in the fall of 2021 after failing to comply with ABC’s health mandate, will return to daytime with the Days Of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spin-off.
“We’re BEYOND excited about this news!” DOOL head writer Ron Carlivati exclaimed on Twitter last Friday, April 29th.

Long-time DOOL fans will remember that Burton began his soap opera career on the NBC sudser in 1988, playing Harris Michaels.
“That was my introduction to daytime,” Burton recalled to Soap Opera Digest. “[I] was supposed to do, I think it was like 10 episodes of Days and it turned into a lot more. Being on Days was just a new experience for me. It was really exciting.”
While it’s unclear who Burton will portray in this mysterious upcoming series, he’ll be in fine company. It was previously announced that Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso will reprise their iconic roles as Bo and Hope Brady for the five-part series.
“My first real introduction to soap operas was Days Of Our Lives,” he continued. “It was cool. Everybody was nice. It was fun. It wasn’t easy. And I still couldn’t act!”
This homecoming for Burton, Reckell and Alfonso – which is being referred to as Beyond Salem Chapter 2 – will air new episodes between July 11th and 15th on Peacock.
