Happy Birthday, Prince George!
The royal family has shared their annual birthday photo of the prince in honor of his 9th birthday today. “George is turning 9!” the photo was captioned on social media with a birthday cake and balloon emoji.
The adorable photograph was taken by the Duchess of Cambridge while the family was on holidays in the U.K. earlier this month. In the photo, Prince Gerge is showing off a toothy grin to the camera wearing a blue polo shirt. It appears that he is standing on a beach close to the water.
“The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share a new photograph of Prince George ahead of his ninth birthday tomorrow,” the couple said in a statement.
It’s become tradition that the royal family release official portraits of their children for each of their birthdays. Kate has acted as photographer in most cases and is known to get behind the camera to capture the perfect shot of her children for their big day.
Prince George has made a few public appearances in recent weeks and started off the summer by making his Wimbledon debut to watch the men’s final with his parents. George sat front row with his parents in the Royal Box and opted for a suit and tie for the occasion.
