Boy Meets World indeed, hopefully Shawn Hunter A.K.A Rider Strong, 35, has gotten more responsible since his days on the hit ABC series as he has now welcomed a baby boy of his own with wife Alexandra Barreto, 39.
The couple who were married in October 2013 were very good at keeping the pregnancy and the arrival a secret as it turns out their new bundle of joy arrived just before the New Year on December 28, 2014, naming him Indigo “Indy” Barreto Strong.
The two new parents met in 2006 while working on the set of now canceled WB series Pepper Dennis.
Strong proposed to Barreto in 2012 after several years together and before his wedding stated, “I’m so incredibly lucky to be getting married to my best friend and partner in crime,” and even revealed details about the wedding, “We’re tying the knot at a summer camp in Oregon…It’s going to be a camp-themed weekend with everyone sleeping in bunks, a ropes course, games, a talent show…let’s hope it doesn’t rain too much.”
While Strong has consistently continued work in TV and movies since his Boy Meets World days, fans were extremely happy to learn he would be returning to TV as Shawn Hunter for the Disney Channel spin-off Girl Meets World.
Strong joined other Boy Meets World alum Ben Savage who was of course Shawn Hunter’s best friend Cory Matthews and Danielle Fishel, Cory’s longtime love Topanga Matthews as the new series follows the growing up of the Matthews’ teenage daughter Riley.
