Michael Buble recently revealed his 3-year-old son Noah has cancer.
Buble, 41, and his wife Luisana Lopilato, 29, confirmed the news in a joint statement on Buble’s Facebook page Friday morning. “We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well,” they wrote.
According to Entertainment Tonight Canada, Buble and his wife originally thought their son had mumps which is why they sought out medical care in the first place, but later found out it was cancer. “It’s tough to see him go through it. I try to remind Lu that we are lucky. That it could have been worse,” said Buble in an interview with ET Canada.
The popular Canadian singer ended the post with a plea for privacy: “At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle. God willing.”
It wasn’t that long ago Noah was admitted to an Argentinian hospital for severe burns after he pulled a boiling pot of water on himself. His mother, Lopilato, rushed him to the hospital at the time of the incident when he was only 22-months-old.
Buble and Lopilato are also parents to 9-month-old son, Elias.
