Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not be starring in a reality show anytime soon!
It was reported early Monday by the U.K. paper The Sun that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were planning a reality show based on their lives with their new Netflix deal. The Sun reported that the couple wanted to give a “glimpse of their lives” while speaking about some of the causes they are passionate about. A spokesman for Meghan and Harry, however, has denied the claims.
“The Duke and Duchess are not taking part in any reality shows,” the spokesman shared with PEOPLE in a statement.
Meghan and Prince Harry moved to California with 1-year-old son Archie in March just a few months after announcing they would be stepping down from their senior royal roles. The couple recently bought a new home in Santa Barbara.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex also recently signed a multi-year deal with Netflix to help produce films and series including scripted series, docu-series, documentaries, features, and children’s shows. The programs they produce will focus on the issues that are important to them and reflect the causes that their nonprofit Archewell supports.
The royal couple has two confirmed projects in the works with Netflix. One is “an innovative nature docu-series,” while the other is “an animated series that celebrates inspiring women.”
