Nearly a month after the shocking and tragic passing of beloved star Luke Perry, many of his famous friends along with his family are coming together to celebrate the actor’s life and their time with him.
According to reports from TMZ, a private memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13. The invitation which was obtained by the outlet shows a photo of Perry along with his two dogs, and reads, “Please join the Perry Family as we remember and celebrate the extraordinary life of Luke Perry.”
Over 100 people within the industry who had worked with Perry throughout his career from Beverly Hills, 90210 to Riverdale are expected to attend, with the invite being extended to not only costars but to crew members, hair and makeup artists, and wardrobe specialists.
In mid-March, Perry’s death certificate revealed that the actor’s ashes had been spread around his farm in Tennessee and the certificate also confirmed that the actor had passed from an “ischemic cerebrovascular,” also known as a stroke.
The Riverdale actor was hospitalized on Feb. 27 after paramedics were dispatched to his home in Sherman Oaks, California in response to someone suffering a stroke. The actor remained “under observation” for five days but died on March 4. According to the death certificate, he died at 12:44 p.m.
His rep confirmed his passing with a statement: “Actor Luke Perry, 52, passed away today after suffering a massive stroke,” read a statement from Perry’s rep. “He was surrounded by his children Jack and Sophie, fiancé Wendy Madison Bauer, ex-wife Minnie Sharp, mother Ann Bennett, step-father Steve Bennett, brother Tom Perry, sister Amy Coder, and other close family and friends. The family appreciates the outpouring of support and prayers that have been extended to Luke from around the world, and respectfully request privacy in this time of great mourning. No further details will be released at this time.”
