Lifetime recently shared the exciting news that they would be releasing 30 new Christmas movies leading into the holiday season, including its first about an LGBTQ+ romance.
This figure matches Lifetime’s record tally of Christmas movie releases from last year. Some of the new stars set to play roles in the films include Jason Priestley, Robin Givens, Amber Steven West, Ali Stroker, Ed Begley, Jr., Cheryl Ladd, Faith Prince, Daniel DiTomasso, and Marco Grazzini. These actors will join some of Lifetime’s classic actors such as Mario Lopez, Melissa Joan Hart, Kelly Rowland, and Betty White.
Lifetime is also set to unveil The Christmas Set Up, which will be the network’s first film built around an LGTBQ+ romance between high school friends who reconnect over the holidays. Last year, the network aired a same-sex kiss in the network’s Twinkle All the Way, however this year they are creating an entire film around an LGTBQ+ relationship.
Lifetime will also bring you its first holiday movie centered on a Chinese-American family entitled A Sugar & Spice Holiday which follows a young architect who returns home to Maine for Christmas in the wake of her grandmother’s passing.
Aside from Lifetime’s exciting new slate of holiday films, the Hallmark Channel also recently announced its plans for 40 new Christmas movies between its original channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
