Last fall beauty giant L’Oreal Paris announced that Hollywood icon Helen Mirren was their newest brand ambassador at the age of 69.
“I have always loved the L’Oreal Paris brand, and I am truly delighted to become an ambassador and join such an impressive group of high-achievers. I am not gorgeous, I never was, but I was always OK-looking and I’m keen to stay that way,” Mirren said at the time of the announcement.
Now, after working on the new campaign for the brand’s Age Perfect line of products for months, they have released the first glimpse of a commercial starring Helen Mirren and, as expected, she absolutely owns it.
The 30 second spot opens with Mirren talking about going “unnoticed” and then scoffing at the idea, probably because she is Helen Mirren and would never go unnoticed and says the product, “helps me look like me” and “show those age spots who’s boss!”
She then changes into a daring black outfit complete with a biker jacket stating, “Grow another year bolder. The perfect age is now.” Then as she strolls down the street she asks, “So are we worth it?” and says, “More than ever,” while giving a sultry glance to a hot, younger man preparing to go for a run.
Mirren showed off her radiance in real life at the Berlinale International Film Festival on Monday February 9 where she was promoting her new film, The Woman in Gold.
Mirren looked stunning in an emerald, lace Dolce & Gabbana gown proving to everyone, age really is just a number.
