Two General Hospital (GH) cast changes were announced late on Wednesday, February 23rd, which will change the face of Port Charles, going forward.
Firstly, it appears that Peter August’s reign of terror has officially come to an end. Actor Wes Ramsey took to Instagram yesterday to share that his time with the ABC soap is indeed over.
“Thank you for taking the journey with me,” he wrote in the post (featured below). “To those who were kind and supportive, my heart has felt inspired by you.”
“To my friends and family (and the fans everywhere), it has been an honor to give everything I had to this and I will never forget how fun it was to entertain you.”
Ramsey’s time on GH was divisive for audiences, as fans argued everything from the believability of his character to Ramsey’s acting style. As a result, August’s demise has been teased by the soap and anticipated by viewers for much of the past year.
“To the cast and crew, thank you for welcoming me into your world and for giving me a chance to play with you each day,” Ramsey concluded. “To the writers, producers and directors, thank you for trusting me with all we did together.”

While fans might see Ramsey’s exit as an opportunity for another master criminal to emerge, cast and crew are tipping their hats to this memorable performer. Co-stars Marcus Coloma (Nik), Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) and Laura Wright (Carly, but also his real-life girlfriend) all sent words of encouragement.
“It was a privilege to play opposite you,” Finola Hughes (Anna) commented. “Thank you for always being present, available and having grace and integrity to boot.”
“Thank you for being a chilling yet wounded character,” she added. “You left it all on the stage…”
Within hours of this news, Deadline reported that actress Tanisha Harper has signed on in the recast role of Jordan Ashford. The character was previously portrayed by Briana Nicole Henry from 2018 to 2021. Prior to that, Vinessa Antoine played the role from 2014 to 2018.
Harper’s previous credits include Dollface, Hacks and Dear White People. Her GH debut is slated for March.
