Selena’s style has proved to have evolved over the years from that of the typical safe and sweet high school-dance inspired looks to a newfound sophisticated and edgy style we recognize today. 8. iHeart Radio Music Awards — 2016

Selena Gomez rocked a cutout tangerine colored jumpsuit to the iHeart Radio Music Awards in 2016. The look was edgy, but still feminine which is what Selena has become known for when it comes to style. The body-hugging jumpsuit was paired with layered black and silver chain chokers which contributed to the rocker vibe of this look, but she added in a girly twist by letting her hair fall loose in flowing waves and rocking a metallic silver heel.

7. WE Day California — 2016

Gomez flawlessly pulled off one of the most difficult colors to wear at WE Day in 2016. She rocked an eye-catching yellow patent duster coat on top of a relatively simple jeans and white tee outfit combo. Rather than looking like she’s wearing a yellow raincoat, Gomez made this style look modern and edgy. She tucked her hair behind her ears in a super polished way and kept the jewelry minimal with a delicate silver knot choker. Few people could pull off a jacket this bold and unique, but Gomez does so flawlessly!

6. Global House — 2015

Selena Gomez turned heads in the streets of London when she made an appearance at Global House channeling a Victoria Beckham-inspired ensemble. Her tailored dress was the epitome of sophistication yet still appeared feminine and delicate on her. The large lapel detailing and A-line design created a flattering shape on the star that added a lighter vibe to the menswear piece. She paired the look with opaque black tights, sky high platforms and a chic pair of dark sunglasses, which definitely proved Selena to be on equal playing field with even some of the biggest style icons in the world of Hollywood.

5. American Music Awards — 2016

Selena wowed when she stepped out at the AMA music awards donning a scarlet Prada ballgown that undeniably caught attention. The star returned stronger than ever after a brief hiatus to deal with her lupus. Her sleek middle-parted ponytail and Cartier earrings were the perfect combination of elegance to top off the look. Fans were already stunned to see Selena appear on the red carpet after months spent out of the spotlight, but this style moment definitely left an even stronger impression.

4. Heathrow Airport — 2016

Proving her to be the ultimate fashionista, Selena Gomez stepped out wearing leggings in the most fabulous way possible as she landed at the London airport. She wore a sheer white button up as an under layer beneath a black cape-style sweater. She finished the look off with pointed toe heels and a chic tote bag. Her look is so stylish that we almost don’t even realize she’s actually wearing leggings and most likely getting off a long flight. Congrats Gomez, even your casual wear wardrobe inspires us to amp up our style game!

3. WE Day California — 2017

Selena Gomez stunned once again at the 2017 WE Day awards with this powder blue matching set ensemble. The faint gingham print and off-the-shoulder detailing are super on trend this season, but she added a twist by incorporating the styles into the form of a matching pantsuit. For shoes, the star wore creamy pastel pumps and left her long bob straight and tucked behind one ear. The outfit was tailored perfectly to Gomez’s body and the simplistic sophistication appeared effortless but definitely worth an applaud in our books.

2. Louis Vuitton Series 3 Launch Party — 2015

The vampy, Gothic-inspired gown Selena Gomez rocked in 2015 at the Louis Vuitton launch party was definitely a moment of transition for her and one of our favorite Gomez style moments. Fans were used to seeing Gomez in light and feminine gowns but it was clear in 2015 she was ready for a change in her look. The edgy yet sophisticated dress featured a patent texture and an alluring zipper down the entire length of the dress. The fluttering cap sleeves added a feminine flare onto the otherwise quite heavy and dark look. She pinned her hair in a loose chignon updo and rocked a gunmetal smokey eye to top off the entire style.

Selena Gomez rocked a vintage-inspired pale blush dress at the MET Gala this past May and we still can’t stop talking about it! The dress was elegantly-detailed and featured subtle floral beading and ivory lace embellishment throughout. The high slit and low-neckline added an appropriate amount of playfulness without going overboard. The romantic gown was topped by peep-toe nude heels and her makeup popped with the eccentric hot pink smokey eye she rocked.
