10. Kelsey Wang Joins Y&R Cast

Actress Kelsey Wang has joined the cast of Y&R and will play the role of Allie, according to Soap Opera Digest. Allie is a mysterious young professional who meets one of Genoa City’s bachelors. Could this be the date Sharon and Rey choose for Noah, as they play matchmaker? Or, could she be connected to Jack’s mysterious LA texts? We’ll find out on Thursday, March 10th, when Wang debuts on the CBS soap.

9. Super Bowl Ready!

Somehow it doesn’t surprise us that Genoa City’s top grifter scored tickets to the Super Bowl! Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea) dropped this envy-worthy photo of her and hubby, Matt Katrosar, during the big game. “Let’s Go Rams!!!” Egan exclaimed. “For you Bengals fans, my parents met in Cincinnati,” Egan added. “I’m very fond of there too.”

8. The Ultimate LA Rams Fan

Egan’s excitement for the Super Bowl can only be rivaled by co-star Michelle Stafford, who used face-swap technology to add her likeness to a variety of action movie heroines with the hashtags #SuperBowl and #LETSDOTHIS. See Phyllis in a mind-bending montage of action movies on her Instagram.

7. Beat-Boxing Gone Wild

Who says soap opera stars never get a break? Eric Braeden (Victor) not only took a break on set, he took a beat-boxing lesson from co-star Joshua Morrow (Nick). How did it turn out? Hmm… even with the Michael Jackson inspired crotch-grab, this is one of the few instances in which Victor really needs to up his game.

6. Jess Walton’s Grief

If you think Jess Walton’s character, Jill Abbott, is tough as nails, she comes by it honestly. On the six-month anniversary of her husband’s passing, Walton shared her strength on Twitter. “I had been having a really hard day, and then I was reminded of the date. Then I understood why. Six months is a hard milestone for grievers,” she explained. “Thank God for the love and the legacy of Grief Recovery my sweet husband left behind.” You can find out more about the organization John James established here.

5. Courtney Hope Has Some V-Day Fun

We all know that Sally Spectra had an amazing Valentine’s Day. But it sounds like portrayer Courtney Hope also had some fun on Instagram while sharing a Y&R promo featuring her, Mark Grossman (Adam) and Eric Braeden (Victor). Next to the clip, in which Victor is not impressed with his son’s new love interest, Hope wrote, “Well, Happy Valentine’s Day… Pops!” Let’s hope Sally doesn’t call Victor that on the CBS soap anytime soon!

4. The Moustache’s Toughest Opponent

Speaking of “Pops”, Eric Braeden sat down with the hosts of The Talk and discussed a wide range of topics — including that time he squared off with Muhammad Ali in an elevator! As Soaps.com reported, the boxing icon left a strong impression on Braeden. “He was a big fan of the show, wonderful man,” Braeden said of the impromptu meeting. Despite Braeden being a longtime boxer, he knew that this round was strictly playful. “You play box with him, you don’t really box with him,” he added. Jeez, the Moustache really has faced off with just about everyone!

3. Eric Braeden Shares Personal Loss

Last November, Eric Braeden shared that his close friend, Professor Michael Meyer, had been hospitalized due to Alzheimers. On February 7th, he shared some sad news on Twitter: “My oldest friend, Prof Michael Meyer, passed away last week! He was finally released from this dreadful Alzheimer prison! We won the US CHAMPIONSHIP in 1973 together! He played midfield and I right fullback! He was a great intellect and a tough player! RIP my friend!”

2. Hunter King Update

Hunter King recently shared on Instagram that she’s back at work on a new project. While few details were disclosed, it’s clear that she’s filming in some frigid temperatures! “Roses are red, this mirror is dirty, night shoots suck when it’s below thirty,” King wrote in the caption. Hunter King’s former character, Summer, was recently mentioned when Michael warned Phyllis that working with her daughter at Marchetti would be a disaster. Well, I know a few million Y&R fans who’d love to watch that disaster unfold.

1. Come And Knock On Our Door

Daytime drama has a reputation for tough taping conditions, involving lots of dialog and no second takes. And while that’s all true, Elizabeth Hendrickson got some Y&R pals together — Greg Rikaart and Melissa Claire Egan — for this fun, Three’s Company inspired montage. “We have absolutely NO fun on our lunch breaks,” Hendrickson deadpanned. Yeah, right!
