9. Props To The Props Department

After Y&R’s prop department handed over Chelsea Lawson’s ID, portrayer Melissa Claire Egan couldn’t help but share details about her character that even she hadn’t been aware of. “I just wanna thank our prop guys and gals for saying [Chelsea’s] 5’3”, which is true,” Egan said in her Instagram story (as per Soaps.com). “And also saying she is 110 pounds? Also true…” she continued, shaking her head, “and saying I was born in 1985.” While Egan, 40, quibbled with her birth date, saying she’s a Libra and not a Taurus, she added, “It’s fine, it’s fine! I was born in 1985, it’s fine!”

7. Could Cane Return?

Daniel Goddard stirred up fresh speculation that his character, Cane Ashby, could return to Y&R last Friday when he tweeted, “Guess what!!!!!” From the hundreds of likes and replies garnered by those two words, it became clear that viewers are as eager as ever to see Lily’s ex return to Genoa City and cause trouble between her and Billy. While Goddard has yet to fill fans in on the big news, we should keep in mind that Friday was April Fool’s.

6. Amelia Heinle Marks Eric Braeden’s Birthday

Birthday wishes came in fast and furious for Eric Braeden’s birthday on Sunday, April 3rd. To celebrate, on-screen daughter Amelia Heinle (Victoria) couldn’t help but share a different side of the Moustache. The formidable and intimidating Victor Newman is quite the giggler in real life, so Heinle decided to share a blooper of the Newman patriarch breaking down in fits of laughter. “Happy Birthday Eric!” wrote Heinle. “I love you!”

5. Rey Makes His Exit

Jordi Vilasuso has revealed that despite signing a three-year contract with Y&R last October, the show decided to opt out after a six-month interval. Needless to say, this decision came as a complete surprise to the actor, as well as Y&R fans. “Playing Rey Rosales and being part of the Rosales family was a beautiful chapter in my career,” he shared on Instagram. “As this door closes, others will and have opened.” Let’s hope another soap scores this talented actor right away!

3. Susan Walters Admits She Ignored Y&R’s Call

We all have our phone etiquette standards, and for some people, it’s easier to let everything go to voicemail. Presumably, that policy has served actress Susan Walters well… that is, until she ignored Y&R’s call to return as Diane Jenkins. “You know how voice texts can mispronounce words? I got one that said, ‘Hey, this is Tony Morina from Wine Art not Y&R,” the actress explained in an interview with TV Insider. “At first I ignored it, but then I listened to the message.” Nobody could’ve anticipated Diane Jenkins being brought back to life, so we can understand why Walters might’ve passed on the message. “I told Tony later, ‘What if I hadn’t listened to that message?’ He said, ‘Well, we would have reached out to you again!’” Catch highlights of her interview here.

2. Mishael Morgan’s Family Tragedy

Very tragic news struck Mishael Morgan’s family last week, when her husband’s brother and his family passed away in a house fire. Morgan reached out to share a GoFundMe page, which will help pay the significant funeral costs for all five loved ones who perished, and asked anyone who is able to donate to please consider doing so. Presently, that GoFundMe has raised over $80,000 and is aiming to reach $150,000.

1. Phyllis Stands By A Friend

Phyllis and Amanda aren’t just gal pals on Y&R – Michelle Stafford has Morgan’s back in real life, too! “My friend, coworker and sister Mishael Morgan and her family have experienced a tragic loss,” Stafford shared on Instagram. “If you cannot donate, leaving a special message for Mishael and her family here (I’m sure) would mean so much to her. I will share everything you write with Mishael.” So, for those unable to donate to the GoFundMe, some kind words during this difficult time will go a long way!
