ER started out as just another medical drama, but ended up becoming an iconic series that broke world records for longest-running medical drama in American television history and the most Emmy nominated show with 124 nods and 23 wins won. It churned out so many actors over the course of 15 seasons, some of whom are now huge stars today (ahem, George Clooney)! ER first aired back in 1994 and ran all the way until 2004. It showcased the inner life of the emergency room in the fictional County General Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. ER laid the ground work for so many other amazing shows like Grey’s Anatomy, House and Scrubs and is still talked about today nearly 12 years later!
