Country music star TIM McGRAW has reached out to the fan he slapped during a concert in Atlanta, Georgia last month (Jul14) in a bid to end the controversy surrounding the incident, which was caught on camera and posted online.
McGraw appeared to lash out at Jesslyn Taylor after she refused to let go of her hero’s leg as he walked out into the crowd at the Aaron’s Ampitheatre show on 13 July (14) and after the clip went viral, the singer felt compelled to offer up an explanation in a bid to end the news story that broke after the unfortunate incident.
He said, “Sometimes things can lose context and perspective. I reacted in an instinctive, defensive way from my perspective of what was going on. I think it was an unfortunate situation… but it happened, it happened in a split second, it was pure instinctive reaction, I think you just got to move on.
“It is one of those things that happen, nobody feels good about it, but there’s nothing that could be done about it. You are in that position, you are out there, you are vulnerable, things happen and sometimes you react. There’s nothing to be said about it.”
News outlets have refused to let the slap-caught-on-camera go and now McGraw has corresponded with Taylor, who hired a lawyer and threatened to sue over the altercation, demanding a public apology.
A representative for McGraw tells Country Weekly, “The matter between Tim McGraw and Jesslyn Taylor stemming from an Atlanta concert has been mutually resolved the old-fashioned way – with a simple conversation.”
