NICKELBACK frontman CHAD KROEGER appears to have dismissed rumours of trouble in his marriage to AVRIL LAVIGNE by posting a cryptic message on Twitter.com on the eve of his wife’s 30th birthday.
The rocker wed Lavigne last summer (13) after a whirlwind romance, but the couple hit headlines for all the wrong reasons earlier this month (Sep14) when tabloid reports suggested the singers were heading for a split.
A source told Us Weekly magazine, “He (Kroeger) has been going around L.A. (Los Angeles) telling people that they are divorcing.” The pair has yet to officially comment on the rocky relationship rumours, but Kroeger took to his band’s Twitter.com blog on Friday (26Sep14) and appeared to blast the claims in a post which read: “I’ve been listening to a couple (of) Fleetwood Mac and Guns N Roses albums recently. RUMORS & LIES … Too funny – CK”.
Lavigne has remained silent on the story, but she celebrated her 30th birthday without her husband on Saturday (28Sep14), when she partied at the Bank Nightclub at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with a group of gal pals, including her sister-in-law Amie Lavigne and best friend Caryn Alpert.
The Sk8er Boi hitmaker, who wore a hot pink mini-dress for her big day, seemed to be in good spirits as she was presented with a sweet treat baked into the shape of a giant cupcake, topped with a large cherry.
