Every year, a number of celebrity pregnancies come completely out of left field and 2018 was no exception. While we saw a number of pregnancies coming from a mile away, there are were a number of other ones that came as a complete shock. Here are the most shocking pregnancies of 2018:

12. Brigitte Nielsen

Brigitte surprised the world when she announced that she was pregnant with her fifth child at the age of 54. Her fifth husband Mattia Dessi, who she has been married to since 2006, is the father. This is the first daughter for the former Playboy model. Her four other children are all boys!

11. Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer married Chris Fischer in February after just a few months of dating and in October she announced that she was expecting her first child with her hubby with a picture on Instagram that spoofed Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Australian tour photos where Markle is cradling her bump. No word yet on when she is due.

10. Joanna Gaines

Most people thought Joanna and Chip Gaines were done having babies when they announced that they were expecting baby #5 this past January. At the time, the couple already had four children, Drake, Ella, Duke and Emmie, and it had been eight years since they had welcomed their youngest. In June, their son Crew was born a few weeks early, but healthy.

9. Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made it clear that they were eager to start a family, but no one was expecting them to announce that there was a baby on the way less than six months after they tied the knot at Windsor Castle. She’s due to give birth in the spring of 2019.

8. Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff announced on Instagram that she and her on-again-off-again Matthew Koma were expecting their first child together in June. “Guess what guys! @matthewkoma and I made a little princess of our own and we couldn’t be more excited!!!!!!🤰🏼👶🏼🎀” she captioned the post. In October, their daughter Banks Violet Bair was born.

7. Jessica Simpson

After giving birth to Ace, Jessica Simpson had made it clear that she had no plans to have a third child so, when she announced that she was pregnant this past September, many were surprised. Simpson and Eric Johnson’s third child is going to be a girl, but no other details have been released.

It was first reported that Kirsten Dunst was pregnant with her first child back in 2017, but it wasn’t until she did a photo spread for Rodart’s Fall Winter 2018 portrait series that she formally announced it by cradling her very big baby bump. In May, the couple’s first child, Ennis Howard Plemons, was born.

5. Morgane Stapleton

In November, Chris Stapleton announced that he and his wife Morgane were expecting their fifth child, seven months after welcoming twins, Macon and Samuel. He made the announcement at Madison Square Gardens. “Some of you may know that we have four children,” he said. “We just had twins, about seven months ago. Now there’s four for us, but we’re gonna make it five!”

4. Rachel Weisz

In April, Rachel Weisz surprised everyone by revealing that she was pregnant with her first child with husband Daniel Craig at the age of 48. In September, it was reported that the two welcomed a baby girl into the world; however, the two have yet to confirm it.

When she was dating Joshua Jackson, Diane Kruger said that she wanted children, but never wanted to get married again. She attended Cannes in a number of billowing gowns that hid her midsection and shortly after it was confirmed that they were expecting their first child together. They have since welcomed a daughter.

The Almost Famous actress shocked everyone when she announced her pregnancy in April with video on Instagram that revealed that she and her musician boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa, are expecting a daughter together. Fans should have seen it coming since she hadn’t been as active on social media prior to the reveal. In October, she gave birth to Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa.
