9. You Aren’t Alone

That’s the message DOOL star Linsey Godfrey had for those who deal with mental health issues. After suffering her first anxiety attack in months, Godfrey took to Instagram and shared her method of recuperating from anxiety. “I’m dancing it out,” she explained about the video. “What are you doing for your mental health today?” Co-stars heard the message loud and clear. “I get you, friend. Been there,” Martha Madison (Belle) commented. “Dance on.” Sal Stowers (Lani) and Tamara Braun (Ava) also showed their support.

8. Valentine Fever

As Valentine’s Day recently passed, many DOOL stars were eager to share heartfelt thoughts about their partners. Eric Martsolf (Brady) quoted Tony Montana in his Instagram post, saying “She’s a tiger, she belongs to me.” Most people wouldn’t peg Al Pacino’s character in Scarface as a true romantic, but luckily Martsolf added his own words as well. “I love you fiercely, Lisa.” Ahh, much nicer!

7. Marlena’s Mail

While many DOOL stars were celebrating their significant others on Valentine’s Day, Deidre Hall (Marlena) was thinking about her many fans. The actress shared a photo on Instagram as she mailed out photos to lucky viewers. “P.S. If you’ve ordered photos, check your mailbox,” Hall urged after wishing everyone a happy Valentine’s day.

6. Melissa and Scott Reeves Grow Their Family

One of the longest running real-life super couples, Melissa and Scott Reeves, announced that their journey as grandparents is far from over. “My funny valentine,” Melissa Reeves addressed to Scott in a Valentine’s Day post, “what an incredible adventure we are on being grandparents. The greatest blessing!” The post goes on to describe the duo as “beyond ecstatic to tell y’all we are getting another grandson in June!!!” The couple, who met on DOOL over 30 years ago, will have four grandsons — and they’re all under two years of age!

5. Alison Sweeney Stars In Hallmark Movie

The final installment in The Wedding Veil trilogy premiered on Saturday, February 19th, and stars Alison Sweeney in the role of Tracy. As Soaps.com reports, the previous films have seen Tracy’s friends find wedded bliss on account of this magical wedding veil, and now it’ll be the DOOL star’s turn. Making this Hallmark movie even more Salem-y, Victor Webster (who played Nicholas Alamain) will star opposite Sweeney.

4. William Christian Nearly Turned Down Role

William Christian recently made his debut as TR Coates, Paulina’s abusive ex. But as it turns out, he nearly passed on the role because it was so different from his All My Children character, Derek Frye. “Who would want to play that?” Christian said in an interview with Soap Opera Digest (via Soaps.com), sharing his initial reaction to playing TR Coates. Luckily for DOOL viewers, those closest to the actor advised him to run with it. “They said, ‘You should do this. It’s quintessential daytime.'”

3. Jack’s Back!

The fact that DOOL is back, after a two-week hiatus caused by NBC’s Winter Olympics coverage, is good news. But what makes it even better is hearing that Jack Deveraux (played by Matthew Ashford) will also be back in Salem, according to Soaps.com. The character left with his wife Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) in early January after the Horton’s annual Christmas rendezvous. Also returning to Salem – although he hasn’t been missing for very long – is Eli (Lamon Archey).

The iconic Bill Hayes recently celebrated the 52nd anniversary of his DOOL debut! How many other soap opera stars can claim such a feat? None, as far as we know! The singular talent, who will celebrate his 97th birthday this year, continues to stir the pot in Salem as Doug Williams – and DOOL fans wouldn’t have it any other way!
