There have been many other stars who have graced the GH canvas over the last five decades the show has been on the air. Below are eight stars you may have forgotten were on GH (at one point or another).

8. Amber Tamblyn

Amber Tamblyn is best known for her roles in The Ring, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants franchise, and even the prime time show Two and a Half Men. This poet, author, and recent director was once on GH as well. She was only twelve when she entered the land of soaps in 1995, playing a young Emily Quartermaine. Tamblyn would exit the show in 2001 for prime time opportunities and the character was recast with actress Natalia Livingston until Emily’s untimely passing.

7. Jonathan Jackson

Now starring in CMT’s hit Nashville, Jonathan Jackson is not only an actor, but he also dabbles in music and is a known author. He got his start in the business playing Lucky Spencer on GH after he entered the role in 1993. While he’s enjoying the success of a prime time show, Jackson racked up the accolades during his stint on daytime TV and was awarded a total of five Daytime Emmys while on GH.

6. Rick Springfield

At one point, every woman in North America wanted to be Jesse’s girl, thanks to the hit song by Rick Springfield. While Springfield is mostly known for his musical talents, he was also on GH in the early ‘80s, playing Dr. Noah Drake. This was before he hit it big as a rock star. He returned to the show in the 2000s to play the same part and was involved in a storyline involving Robin Scorpio, Anna Devane and Patrick Drake.

5. John Stamos

This guy may not need an introduction. The lovable and handsome Greek has dabbled in prime time and movies, but is probably best known for his “Uncle Jessie” character on both Full House and Fuller House. Stamos broke into the business as Blackie Parrish on GH and played the part from 1982 to 1984.

4. Ricky Martin

Before he was “Living la Vida Loca,” Martin resided in Port Charles, playing Miguel Morez on GH for about a year in 1994. Morez was involved in a storyline with Brenda Barrett and Sonny Corinthos at one point in time during his soap opera stint. Martin is obviously best known as a singer, with hit songs like “Cup of Life” and “She’s All I Ever Had.” Martin is also known for his stint in the Puerto Rican boy band, Menudo.

3. Demi Moore

One of the most famous actresses of this generation, Demi Moore is known for flicks like St. Elmo’s Fire, A Few Good Men, G.I. Jane, and the list could go on and on. Her high-profile relationships with Ashton Kutcher and Bruce Willis have made tabloid headlines during her career, but she’s taken it all with stride. Demi played Jackie Templeton, a reporter on GH from 1982 to 1983.

2. James Franco

Most actors use soap opera roles as a stepping stone for something bigger and brighter in Hollywood, but this established film actor, James Franco, did the opposite. In 2009, he signed on for 20 episodes with GH, after being obsessed with performance art. James appeared on the show as “Franco”, an insane artist who was obsessed with Jason Morgan. James had a recurring role on the show where the character would make appearances (now and again) from 2009 to 2012.

1. Mark Hamill

Luke Skywalker was on GH! Best known for his Star Wars movies, Mark Hamill got his big break into the acting biz by playing Kent Murray from 1972 to 1973 on the popular soap. Murray and his sister headed into the land of Port Charles after their father passed away and were forced to live with an aunt. It seems that Mark Hamill has always played characters with daddy issues.
