Over the course of five-plus seasons of Vanderpump Rules, fans have watched Katie Maloney evolve from being Stassi’s sidekick to an independent woman who makes decisions for herself. Even though she puts so much of her life on the show, there’s still a ton that people don’t know about her, so check out these 7 fun facts about the reality star:
Before becoming a reality star, she worked as a music supervisor and in the Fred Segal gifting suite at Utah’s Sundance Film Festival.
When Maloney moved to L.A., she initially worked as an assistant wardrobe stylist in Los Angeles. It was a friend who was a wardrobe stylist who offered her the job.

She got a job at SUR to pay her bills and then became a reality star, but it wasn’t part of her plan! “Oh my gosh, I never thought that I would do a reality TV show,” she told The Salt Lake Tribune. “I didn’t want to for a long time because there was stigma attached to reality TV that I didn’t want to involve myself in, so I caught myself by surprise by getting involved.”
The reality starlet is pretty low maintenance. She only washes her hair once a week. According to her, “that’s what dry shampoos are made for!”
Katie makes her own shaving cream out of olive oil and aloe vera gel. “You just whip it up and it works as well as any other product you can find,” she told Glamour.
Several years ago, she was badly injured when she fell 25 feet through a skylight. She fractured her jaw, broke her collarbone and had a small brain injury. According to her, she could have died that day.
