Carrie Underwood has quickly become one of the most well-known country singers out there. Her success as an artist, specifically a female artist is hard matched. Between her talent, down-to-earth personality and good looks, she is well known and loved by fans everywhere, but she is also one of those celebrities who likes to keep her personal life private. Check out these things you probably didn’t know about Carrie Underwood!

10. American Idol

Many forget that Carrie Underwood got her big start after winning season four of American Idol but she got even more than that out of the show. She was in college while participating in the show and since she was going through for a degree in Mass Communications, she received a college credit for her time spent on American Idol. “I’ve obviously done enough with television. There was my internship right there!” she told People.

9. Forgotten Relationships

Many don’t remember a time when Carrie wasn’t with her NHL player husband Mike Fischer, but back in 2007 and 2008 she dated Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford. She later revealed they broke up over text and it still isn’t clear if it was her or Crawford that sent the break-up text.

8. Dream Almost Lost

Before American Idol, Underwood almost gave up on singing as a career. When she was 14 she landed an audition with Capitol Records who began preparing a contract for her but it was cancelled when the company management changed. After high school she didn’t even think of it as a career, stating, “I pretty much gave up on the dream of singing. I had reached a point in my life where I had to be practical and prepare for my future in the ‘real world.'” She has also said that if singing hadn’t worked out the way it did she was looking into pursuing a career as a TV news reporter or anchor.

7. Organized

It is pretty easy to tell that Carrie Underwood has everything under control at all times, but even she admits it can be pretty intense how organized she is. “I can’t function during the day if I know my bed is not made. It will be all I think about throughout the day until it’s actually made. My refrigerator is extremely organized. Everything is showing labels and is arranged in perfect rows.”
