As one of the stars of the Big Bang Theory, it is well known that Kaley Cuoco makes a lot of money and is often the highest paid actress on television, something her soon to be ex-husband Ryan Sweeting would like a part of.
Sweeting filed his documents on October 15 in L.A. after Cuoco orginally filed for divorce on September 25 from her tennis player husband. Both documents state the consistent “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split, but in his papers, Sweeting lists Sept. 25 as the date of separations while Cuoco cited Sept. 3 in her filing.
Since the two signed a prenup prior to their 2013 New Years Eve wedding, Kaley stated that spousal support was payable and terminable as laid out by the agreement, and as a result Sweeting is asking for spousal support but also asking that they terminate the ability to award support to Cuoco. Another interesting point in Sweeting’s documents is that he is asking for his estranged wife to pay for his attorney fees as well, which is something she listed as being paid by both parties, per their prenup.
Cuoco and Sweeting released a statement in late September, confirming they were calling it quits on their 21 month long marriage after battling breakup rumors for the majority of their relationship. While they have given no specific reason for the split rumors revolve around Cuoco’s relationship with her Big Bang Theory costar and ex Johnny Galecki, and others state Sweeting developed a dependency to painkillers following a decline in his career due to injuries.
