Seventeen years after Reese Witherspoon made her first appearance on Friends as Jennifer Aniston’s on-screen sister Jill Green, the duo are teaming up and returning to TV!

Apple has ordered two seasons of the beloved actresses’ new morning show drama but a premiere date has not yet been announced. Along with starring in the show, Witherspoon and Aniston will be executive producers and are co-owners of the show alongside Michael Ellenberg’s Media Res company which is producing the series.

While there is no script for the new series yet, it is known that each season will consist of 10 episodes and will follow the lives of morning show hosts which is based off an original idea by Michael Ellenberg and Brain Stelter who wrote the book Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV.

Although the book was intially in development at Lifetime as a TV movie, it ended up being pitched as a series which created a bidding war between many outlets with Apple being the winner. Jay Carson who is best known for his work on Netflix’s House of Cards will be serving as the showrunner for the series which not only reunites Aniston and Witherspoon, but marks Aniston’s first return to TV since the end of Friends in 2004.

Of course, romantic-comedy darling Reese Witherspoon has already found some great success on TV recently when she received an Emmy Nomination for her work on the hit limited series Big Little Lies.
