Some celebrities are adamantly against having their children vaccinated; however, there are several others who think it is their civic duty. Ever since they became parents, they have made sure to get their children the proper vaccinations and they have also made sure to get themselves the necessary booster shots. This way, they don’t run the risk of catching these vaccine-preventable diseases and passing them along to their children or anyone else’s. As the vaccination debate continues, we decided to take a look at some celebrities who are pro vaccination. Here are 7 celebrities who are pro-vaccination.
7. Keri Russell
Keri Russell is pro vaccination. In 2007, she signed up to become the spokesperson for Silence the Sounds of Pertussis campaign. Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, is a highly infectious respiratory disease that is really dangerous for young babies and children who aren’t fully immunized. Russell and her husband at the time Shane Deary made sure to get vaccinated with the Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) booster to prevent them from unknowingly transmitting the disease to their child, River and she recommended that other parents to do the same.
“Like any parent, I would do anything to protect my baby, and that is why I followed my pediatrician’s recommendation to get the pertussis vaccine myself. I am very excited to be working with PKIDs to spread the word and help other parents learn how to best protect their babies from this deadly but preventable disease,” she told People magazine.
